About Hawkeye

Hawkeye's 30-Second Elevator-Pitch History

  • Hawkeye grew up in Alaska, hiking and fishing, but mostly solo-camping. At 17, he flew down to the Lower 48 (what Alaskans call the continental US) and hitch-hiked around the US for nine months. After returning to the Land of the Midnight Sun, Hawkeye joined the National Guard, where he served 10 years as Airborne-Infantry Recon, Medic, and Journalist. Honorably leaving the military, he went into computers. Here, he became a Network Engineer, Technical Editor, and Technical Writer for companies such as Microsoft, CompuCom, and Compuware. Leaving this industry, Hawkeye trained and became a professional Massage Therapist for many years. Eventually employed at a high-end spa in Orange County, Hawkeye helped clients from around the world. Coming from Russia, China, Thailand and other locales, Hawkeye's clients told him he gave the best massage they had ever had. Deciding to move on, seeking his next adventure, Hawkeye enjoyed about 10 years teaching English Writing and Speaking in China (during which time he earned his Master degree in Education). After many experiences at all teaching levels, Hawkeye ended up teaching at UCAS, a world-renowned set of scientific research universities in China. Covid-19 happened, closing the universities and sending Hawkeye to return to Tucson, AZ, where he currently resides.
